sonogram2.jpg Today, the new baby had it's first picture taken! He is about 1 1/2 cm long, and the technician estimated him to be 7 weeks and 6 days old. That makes his projected due date September 10th, 2005. Mommy, Daddy and Sister Laci all got to see the new baby's heartbeat fluttering inside Mommy.

Today, Mommy had her second sonogram. This time, not only was the heartbeat seen, but the technician got excellent views of the hands, feet, face, and... the genitals. It appears that he will be a boy! Be sure to check the photo gallery for the newest sonogram images - including image leaving very little doubt as to the sex.

Attempted Abduction!

Today I had the scare of my life, a lady tried to take my baby.  I was shopping at Costco and Daniel was in his car seat which was attached to the cart.  As I leaned over to look at meat in the meat case, I realized my cart was rolling away.  I tossed the package of meat that was I was inspecting and went running after my cart exclaiming " Excuse Me".  An older lady was pulling my cart from behind her (the opposite end from where you push).  As I reached the cart and grabbed hold, I finally attracted her attention.  As she turned around, she realized the

Beautiful Baby Smile

Today mommy took Daniel to the grocery store to do the weekly shopping and as we were waiting for our deli order, Daniel gave mommy the most beautiful baby smile.  I know at this age everyone says that it's not a smile but a gas bubble, but I believe this was a smile.  Trust me when I say that if it were gas I would have known right away, Daniel is not embarrassed to let them rip loudly no matter where we are.  However just the same it was Daniel's first smile and it was a beautiful baby smile.

Tongue Twister

This evening as Daniel lay on the couch beside mommy; daddy came and sat on the other side of Daniel.  After a few minutes of Daniel grasping daddy's finger and staring at him, daddy started to make faces at Daniel.  Daniel was very amused by this and began making faces of his own.  Then daddy taught Daniel the first trick that daddy also taught Laci.  After a few times of daddy sticking out his tongue at Daniel, Daniel then started to imitate daddy.  It took Daniel just a few times of watching daddy before he figured out how to do that too.  Daniel was very happy to stick out his little tongue staring back at daddy.  It all happened so quickly but it was very endearing.

This evening was quite an adventure; we discovered at 4pm that Daniel had a fever.  We took him to the closest hospital for evaluation.  After waiting in the emergency room waiting area for two hours to be seen his fever was 101.9 and daddy and I were very concerned.  Daniel was so pitiful his little head was so warm and his kept making almost quiet squeaking noises.  He was such a trooper when they took blood and cathed him for urine, he didn't even make a peep.  It was when the procedure was all over that he cried.  Needless to say all is well but what
