In the Beginning...

After a wonderful wedding, Laci's parents were grateful for some time alone. After they shared a hot bubble bath, Laci was conceived.
Laci is Born

At 8:55 AM (Eastern Time), Laci Leanne Dezern was born at Shady Grove Hospital. While her cord was around her neck, the doctor was able to untangle her, and all went well. She came out weighing a light 5 pounds 13 ounces, and measured only 18 3/4 inches. Laci's First Week

Mommy and daddy were very excited to be new parents. Laci was a very tiny little baby and even the preemie clothes were too big for her. In that first week Laci enjoyed her play mat which was on the floor, she discovered it had a mirror and she rolled from her belly to her back to see herself.
The First Laugh

This evening, Laci was lying in her crib touching the toys she found around her. When she glanced at herself in the mirror, she laughed. Mommy and daddy were not far away and heard her; we rushed over to admire our sweetheart. 2 Month Check Up

Today our little Laci said her first word! Her first word was Mama. We are very proud of her.
Christmas Eve 2003

On Christmas Eve Laci enjoyed presents from her extended family. The part she liked the best was the wrapping and tissue paper. She would grab a hold of a piece and shake it over and over. She liked this part a lot.
